We checked the iOS steps against Apple's iOS 27 documentation and Cash App's settings against its official help pages in October 2026. ## Method 1: Hide Cash App with Face ID (iOS 18 and later) This is the only built-in way that hides Cash App from your Home Screen, App Library and search at once. 1. **Find Cash App on your Home Screen** Touch and hold the Cash App icon until the quick actions menu opens. 2. **Tap Require Face ID** On iPhones with Touch ID it says Require Touch ID. You can also choose Require Passcode. 3. **Tap Hide and Require Face ID** Authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. 4. **Tap Hide App** Cash App leaves the Home Screen and moves to the locked Hidden folder at the bottom of App Library. Cash App keeps working, and its data is untouched. Open it from the Hidden folder at the bottom of App Library. On iOS 17 or earlier, remove it from the Home Screen instead (see below). **What this does not do:** it doesn't hide Cash App from Screen Time, and it doesn't change iCloud backups. Anyone who knows your iPhone passcode can open the Hidden folder. ## Method 2: Cash App's own privacy settings iOS hides the app icon. Cash App itself can hide what's inside it. These settings work on any iOS version that Cash App supports. ### Payment requests Go to **Open the profile icon in the top-right of your home screen -> Select Privacy -> Under Payment requests, choose No one, Contacts only, or Anyone**. Controls who can send you payment requests. ### Block an account Go to **Tap the magnifying glass icon -> Search for the account -> Select the account to open their profile -> Scroll to the bottom and tap Block**. Stops that account from sending you payments or requests. Blocking is not a report. ### Hide card info Go to **Open the Card tab, select the card, and toggle Show Cash App Card Info**. Hides your virtual Cash App Card number in the app. ### Security Lock Go to **Select your profile icon -> Select Security -> Select Security Lock**. Choose whether to protect opening Cash App, sending payments, or both. It uses a 4-digit Security Code, plus Face ID if your iPhone supports it. ### Hide Cash App message previews Cash App can notify you by text or email after every payment. Cash App says these settings are in the profile section of the app. ## Other ways to hide Cash App - **Remove it from the Home Screen.** Touch and hold Cash App, tap **Remove App**, then **Remove from Home Screen**. Hiding never changes what your iPhone backs up. ## How to unhide Cash App 1. **Open App Library.** Swipe left past your last Home Screen page. 2. **Open the Hidden folder.** Scroll to the bottom, tap Hidden and authenticate. 3. **Unhide Cash App.** Touch and hold Cash App, tap Don't Require Face ID and authenticate again. Cash App goes back to App Library. Drag it to your Home Screen from there. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can you hide Cash App on iPhone? Yes.
