# What is Excluded Apps (Siri)?

Published 2026-10-31 - Updated 2026-10-31 - By VaultForYou Editorial Team - Checked against iOS 27 - 31 Oct 2026

## Quick answer

Excluded Apps is a Siri setting in iOS 27 that keeps the apps you choose away from Siri, Search and suggestions. The apps stay on your Home Screen and keep working; they just stop appearing in those places.

- **Where:** Settings -> Siri -> Excluded Apps -> Add Apps.
- **Effect:** Not available to Siri, Search or suggestions.

It is a lighter option than hiding an app: useful when you don't mind the icon being visible but don't want the app or its content surfacing in search results or suggestions.

## Frequently asked questions

### How do I stop an app showing up in iPhone search?

On iOS 27, go to Settings, Siri, Excluded Apps, tap Add Apps and select the app. Apple says excluded apps are not available to Siri, Search or suggestions. Hiding the app with Hide and Require Face ID also removes it from search.
