Only you and people you invite can see a private (secret) board. To start a new board as private, turn on Keep this board private when you name it. ### Archive a board Go to **Open the board -> ellipsis icon (top right) -> Archive board -> Archive**. Archived boards no longer show on your public profile and move to the Archived boards section of your Boards tab. You can unarchive a board at any time. ### Make your profile private Go to **Tap your profile picture (bottom right) -> tap your profile picture (top left) -> Profile visibility -> Private profile**. Only your followers can see your boards and Pins, and your profile is left out of Pinterest and search engine results. Business accounts must switch to a personal account first. ### Clear recent searches Go to **Search icon -> tap the search bar -> clear icon next to a recent search**. Removes searches from your recent search list. ### Save your own Pins to a private board Pins you create from your own photos stay visible only to you and the people you invite when you save them to a private board. ### Notification previews Go to **Your profile picture (top left) -> Notifications -> choose a category**. Each category can be set separately for push, email, and in-app notifications. Changes save automatically. ### Parental passcode A parent can set a four-digit passcode on a teen's account under Settings -> Account management. It locks some account, privacy, and social settings. Teens 13 to 16 always have private profiles. ## Frequently asked questions ### Can you lock Pinterest on iPhone? Yes. Touch and hold Pinterest, tap Require Face ID and confirm. It then needs Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to open. Pinterest has no separate lock of its own. ### Can you hide Pinterest on iPhone? Yes. On iOS 18 or later, touch and hold Pinterest, tap Require Face ID, then Hide and Require Face ID. It moves to the locked Hidden folder at the bottom of App Library and leaves search results. ### Does Pinterest have its own passcode? No. Pinterest relies on iOS for locking. Use Require Face ID, which accepts Face ID, Touch ID or your iPhone passcode. For a separate code, Screen Time with its own passcode is an option. ### Do Pinterest settings sync to my iPad? The iOS lock and hidden status don't sync with iCloud; set them on each device.
