Turn it on with the same account on each device and favorites appear everywhere within minutes. - **Service:** Your Microsoft account - **Setting:** Settings -> Profiles -> Sync -> Favorites - **What syncs:** Favorites, with folders and order; deletions too ## Sync favorites in Microsoft Edge 1. **Sign in** In Edge, sign in with your Microsoft account. 2. **Turn on favorite sync** Settings -> Profiles -> Sync -> Favorites. Favorites is one of the data types; the others (history, passwords, open tabs) are separate switches. 3. **Repeat on each device** Sign in with the same account and turn favorites sync on. 4. **Check** Open `edge://favorites` on the other device. New favorites usually arrive within a minute; a large first sync can take longer. Menu labels change between versions of Edge; the shortcut and the internal address `edge://favorites` don't. ## What sync does Every add, edit, move and deletion is copied to every device signed in with your Microsoft account. There is no per-folder choice: the whole list syncs or none of it. The copy in the account is the current list, not a history of versions. ## Stop syncing favorites Settings -> Profiles -> Sync -> Favorites, and turn the favorites switch off. favorites already on each device stay there; new changes stay local. Signing out does the same for everything at once. ## Keep some bookmarks out of Microsoft Edge altogether Synced means every signed-in device shows the favorite: a work laptop, a family computer, a phone someone else picks up. Check that the same account is signed in on both devices, that the favorites switch is on in Settings -> Profiles -> Sync -> Favorites, and that neither device is paused (a yellow or red icon on the profile picture). A changed password can pause sync until you sign in again. ### Can I sync favorites with a different browser? Not with your Microsoft account. Between browsers, export an HTML file and import it, or use a third-party sync extension. ### Does deleting on one device delete everywhere? Yes. That is sync working as designed; turn it off first if you want to clear one device only. ### Do private bookmarks sync? No. Private Bookmarks never syncs and has no network access.
