The browser writes Bookmarks.bak when it starts, from the Bookmarks file as it was. That gives you one browser session to copy it before it is overwritten, so close the browser and copy the file first. ### Do the steps differ between Windows and Mac? Only the modifier key: Ctrl on Windows, Linux and ChromeOS becomes ⌘ on a Mac. Menu paths and internal URLs are the same. ### Why do Edge pages say favorites? Microsoft Edge calls bookmarks favorites and the bar the favorites bar.
