You can hide the whole bookmark bar (Ctrl+Shift+B (⌘+Shift+B on a Mac)), keep private bookmarks in a second browser profile, or put them in an encrypted vault with Private Bookmarks, where they are locked behind a password and never show in the bar, the manager or sync. - **Hide the bar:** Ctrl+Shift+B (⌘+Shift+B on a Mac) - **Separate profile:** Profile picture -> Add; its bookmarks are its own, but it has no password - **Locked:** Private Bookmarks: encrypted vault with a password ## Hide bookmarks in Vivaldi 1. **Hide the bar** Press Ctrl+Shift+B (⌘+Shift+B on a Mac). The bookmarks stay in the manager; only the bar goes. 2. **Or use a second profile** Click your profile picture -> Add. The new profile has its own bookmarks, history and sync. Anyone can switch to it, so it hides but doesn't lock. 3. **Or lock them** Install [Private Bookmarks](/private-bookmarks) from the Chrome Web Store, set a password, and save the page with the toolbar icon or Alt+Shift+B. It goes into the vault, not into Vivaldi's bookmarks. 4. **Remove the original** If the page is already a bookmark in Vivaldi, delete it there; the vault copy stays. No. Every bookmark shows in the manager to anyone using the profile. ### Is an Incognito window a way to hide bookmarks? No. Bookmarks saved in an Incognito window go into the normal list. Incognito only stops history and cookies from being kept. ### Can someone find bookmarks I hid in a second profile? Yes: switching profiles takes one click and no password, and the profile's Bookmarks file is readable on disk. ### Where do private bookmarks show up? Only in the Private Bookmarks side panel after you enter your password.
