You can change the name, the address and the folder. - **Edit:** right-click a bookmark -> Edit; in Bookmark Manager, ⋮ next to the bookmark -> Edit - **Fields:** Name, URL, folder - **Several at once:** Select in the manager and drag to move; names are edited one by one ## Edit a bookmark in Google Chrome 1. **Find the bookmark** On the bookmarks bar, in the star menu, or in `chrome://bookmarks`. 2. **Open Edit** right-click a bookmark -> Edit; in Bookmark Manager, ⋮ next to the bookmark -> Edit. 3. **Change what you need** Shorten the name so it fits on the bar, paste a new address if the page moved, or pick another folder. 4. **Save** Click Save or Done. With sync on, the change reaches your other devices. Menu labels change between versions of Chrome; the shortcut and the internal address `chrome://bookmarks` don't. ## Rename from the star On a page you have already saved, the star in the address bar is filled. Click it to rename the bookmark or move it, without opening the manager. ## Icons on the bar Give a bookmark an empty name and only its site icon shows on the bookmarks bar, which fits three times as many. Chrome replaces the icon when you next visit the site. ## Keep some bookmarks out of Google Chrome altogether Renaming a bookmark to something vague is a common way to keep it from standing out; it still shows in the manager and in sync.
