With sync on, the deletion reaches your other devices too. - **One bookmark:** right-click a bookmark on the bar or in the manager -> Delete - **Everything:** Ctrl+A (⌘+A) in `chrome://bookmarks`, then Delete - **Undo:** Bookmarks.bak in the profile folder, or an HTML export ## Delete bookmarks in Google Chrome 1. **Open the manager** Open `chrome://bookmarks` or press Ctrl+Shift+O (⌘+Option+B on a Mac). 2. **Select what goes** Click one bookmark, Ctrl/⌘-click to add more, Shift-click for a range, or Ctrl+A (⌘+A) for everything in the folder. 3. **Delete** Press Delete, or right-click -> Delete. 4. **Check your other devices** If your Google Account syncs bookmarks, the deletion is copied there within minutes. Menu labels change between versions of Chrome; the shortcut and the internal address `chrome://bookmarks` don't. ## Delete a whole folder Right-click the folder in the manager or on the bookmarks bar and choose Delete. Everything inside goes with it. ## Deleted the wrong one There is no bin. Close Chrome, go to the profile folder (`%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Bookmarks` on Windows) and look for Bookmarks.bak: it is the Bookmarks file as it was when Chrome last started. Rename it to Bookmarks to go back, or import your last HTML export. ## Keep some bookmarks out of Google Chrome altogether Deleting is how most people keep a bookmark from being seen, which also means losing it. In `chrome://bookmarks`, click into the list, press Ctrl+A (⌘+A on a Mac) and then Delete. Do it in each folder, or select the folders themselves. ### Does deleting a bookmark remove it from my other devices? Yes, if bookmarks sync through your Google Account.
