## Facebook's own privacy settings

### Archive posts from your activity log

In the iPhone app, use Manage Activity in your activity log to move posts, photos, or videos to Archive. Archived items are visible only to you, and restoring one brings back its original audience.

### Hide your story from specific people

In your story privacy settings, use Hide story from to choose people who won't see your story. It also applies to photos and videos already in your story.

### Change who can see a post

Use the audience selector on a new or existing post to pick who sees it. Only me is one of the choices.

### Delete searches

You can clear recent searches. In the iPhone app, Manage Activity in your activity log can also delete a search.

### Set an album to Only me

The album's owner can change its audience in the album's edit settings. The album's setting also controls the privacy of the photos posted in it.

### Notification previews

Go to **Settings & privacy -> Settings -> Notifications**. Choose which activity sends you notifications and how they arrive.

### Your time on Facebook

This tool is in Settings, under Preferences. It shows how much time you spend on Facebook and helps you manage it.

## Keep Facebook photos out of your camera roll

Photos you save from Facebook land in the Photos app, outside any app lock. Move private ones into a vault and delete the originals.

> **Lock this in VaultForYou.** Keep Facebook photos in an encrypted vault that opens only with a pattern you draw. [Download on the App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/vaultforyou/id0000000000)

## Frequently asked questions

### Can you lock Facebook on iPhone?

Yes. Touch and hold Facebook, tap Require Face ID and confirm. It then needs Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode to open. Facebook has no separate lock of its own.

### Can you hide Facebook on iPhone?

Yes. On iOS 18 or later, touch and hold Facebook, tap Require Face ID, then Hide and Require Face ID. It moves to the locked Hidden folder at the bottom of App Library and leaves search results.

### Does Facebook have its own passcode?

No. Facebook relies on iOS for locking. Use Require Face ID, which accepts Face ID, Touch ID or your iPhone passcode. For a separate code, Screen Time with its own passcode is an option.

### Do Facebook settings sync to my iPad?

The iOS lock and hidden status don't sync with iCloud; set them on each device. Facebook has an iPad app, so repeat the steps there.
